Jan 19th – First day at sea
Well we got up at the beautiful Port Orleans French Quarter, and went to breakfast. Ange got herself some rice crispy’s and a banana. I however figured out that they had some beignets! Do I bought six, so that we could share them.
After breakfast, we headed out for a long stroll. What a lovely resort. On the way back, we found this cute little old man at the door, dressed like a New Orleans krew member. We started talking to him and ends up, he’s Dutch and was a wealth of information.
Noon arrived and it was time to board the bus to Cape Canaveral. As we approached, we saw the old NASA launch grounds… And then the ship. What a beauty. Definitely bigger than the Magic.
Since it was our first day at sea. As is now tradition, after putting our clothes away we headed to the buffet restaurant. On the Fantasy it’s Cabana’s and not Top Siders. Same idea though. Had some veggies, steak, pasta. We then headed down to explore the new ship… It seems very similar yet completely different. Needless to say, Ange found her way to The Cove Cafe… and made new friend Robert.
After more exploring it was time to see a show.
Finally dinner time..
Our first dinner was at a new restaurant The Enchanted Gardens. Inspired by the gardens of Versailles, we were greeted by our waitstaff, Dewayne from Jamaica and Precious from Philipines. At our surprise, we were alone alone at our table. I started joking that it’s probably cause we’re seated with the same couple as last year. Dinner was served. I started with a North Atlantic Lobster Ravioli, followed by an Romain Wedge, topped with a creamy Romano Dressing and homemade croutons. Finally from my main, I had a slow roasted Prime Rib, with thyme roasted vegetables, a double baked Potato. Fantastic to the last bite… Ange started with cucumber garden roll, that was filled with julienne carrots, bell peppers and zucchini, drizzled with a cilantro and white shoyu dressing.
